One last blog post-- just wanted to thank you guys for making my last Lincoln show such an amazing experience. I loved getting to know and work with all of you, and I hope you all had as much fun as I did producing this amazing show. We sold out every performance, created nine fantastic one acts, and got glowing reviews from everyone who saw it.
Seniors, I am so lucky to have grown up with all of you, and cannot express all that you have given me throughout the years, whether you knew it or not. We have seen each other go through all of the weird, awkward, and embarrassing phases of high school and have somehow managed to come out the other end intact and together.
Freshmen, thank you for taking a chance and doing the show, and thank you for being so amazing to work with. I hope theater helped you find your place like it did for me. Know that you are always welcome and wanted in LHS drama.
Jim, thank you for all your hard work and dedication to this department over the years-- I don't know if you can understand how many kids you have given a safe space where they feel appreciated and wanted. I, for one, will always be in debt to you and this program, and appreciate you letting me work on one last play before leaving.
This isn't a definite goodbye yet-- we still have until Abes-- but a sincere thank you to everyone who helped make this show one of the most rewarding I have ever done. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
I hope I get to see and say goodbye to all of you at Abes on May 30, and I hope that all of you keep doing drama next year.
Thank you all so much.

Week 6
Thanks for an awesome opening weekend everyone! Sorry I haven't posted notes from the last two shows-- I have mostly given notes directly to the people they are about, so it hasn't really been necessary.
Also, we're looking for a house to have the cast party at-- we expect about 35-40 people. If you have a house that can fit all of us and if your parents are willing to have everyone over we would greatly appreciate it.

Opening Night Notes 5/8
There was a lot of backstage noise tonight-- if it happens again I'll have to put a crew member on quiet duty. Remember, the audience can hear EVERYTHING in intimate seating.
Also, if you really would like to play cards, your call time is 5:00. We can't play after magic time so get it all out at the beginning please!
Angelo - "Is there something I can do for you?"
Maya, India, Caleb - Flub on Maya's first line/interruptions?
Natina - Please use a black or brown hair tie-- the one you had on tonight was distracting
Emma - "Because, because" line was weird
Sam - Page 7 "snowmobile club" line jumbled
Ross - What are you mouthing before "I gotta head" on pg 8?
Alex - Keep skates as quiet as possible backstage! I think you may have hit them against the wall
LOL Teis crotch pockets
Lauren- review pg 6 "I know, and"
Lili is an angel
Lili, Cris - keep control of the painting
Thanks for an awesome run, guys!

Makeup/Costume Notes from Marjorie
General Notes:
1. Please, for the love of god, wear antiperspirant!! If you do not own any, buy some ASAP. Not wearing is not an option.
2. Full makeup is required for ALL ACTORS tomorrow. Boys, I will be buying makeup tonight, so don't worry about it.
Run Crew:
All- Your costumes all look great, so stick with that. No makeup is required, but if you do wear any, it must be very minimal.
Prologue:
Bilal- Remember to bring your black shoes!
Caroline- The makeup you did today was perfect. That will be your permanent makeup.
Her Heart:
Angelo- You're good.
Katie- Your makeup was the right color, but there needs to be less of it. I'll show you what I mean tomorrow. Also, I liked the lipstick you had on today was good. I think we're going to stick with that.
Sad and Glad:
Caleb- Remember to trace over your tattoo tomorrow.
India- I think your makeup looked good. I still want to try out the hot pink lipstick tomorrow, but keep the one you had on today handy.
Maya- Your eyes looked good. I will buy you the lipstick tonight, so we'll see how it looks onstage tomorrow.
This Hurts:
Andy- Tuck in your vest all the way or not at all.
Natina- You need darker blush. Also, try lip gloss tomorrow, and I'll see if I like it.
Getting it Back:
Ben- You're good.
Emma- You looked very washed out on stage today. You need darker lipstick, eyeshadow, and blush. They all need to be more pink.
They Fell:
Ross- You're good.
Sam- Remember to bring your compression shorts!
Where it Went:
Alex- You're good.
Kate- You were wearing a ring on your right hand. It was a beautiful Kate ring, but not a Marce ring. Please take off all extra jewelry besides for the earrings you and Izzy have agreed upon. (That's a note for everyone! NO JEWELRY EXCEPT FOR WHAT YOU AND YOUR COSTUMER HAVE ALREADY AGREED UPON.)
Story of Hope:
Teis- You're good
Lauren- I like the way we have your hair now. We’ll neaten it up tomorrow, but that’s going to stick. Remember to bring brown tights!
If you have any questions please email me at marjoriems5@gmail.com Tomorrow we are solidifying everything, so you need to be in full costume and makeup. I will not accept any more excuses.
For everyone who forgets, you owe Kiley, your ASM, your director, and your costumer a chocolate bar.
Thanks,
Marjorie

Week 5
Thank you guys for a great cue to cue; only three days until we open! Tell your parents I'm sorry for the inconvenience last night-- we didn't know how long the show would run, but now we do and have adjusted rehearsal times this week to accommodate that.
This week everyone should be in makeup for dress rehearsals-- eyeliner, mascara, and a little bit of blush if needed. Girls should come in earlier if they will need more time to do hair.

Please be on time to that we can stay on schedule as much as possible. When your show is not in tech, you are expected to be practicing in the vicinity if possible. Week 4
*This is our last week of rehearsals before tech! Everyone should be off book and costumes should be finalized this week.*
Directors
- If you are not completely blocked and off book, you MUST have outside rehearsals this week.
- Sorry for the scheduling confusion last night-- hopefully it's all figured out now!
- Set aside time this week for costume fittings and talks with lighting designers.
- I have conflicts for this weekend from one or two directors, but if you'd like me to try to work around your schedule, I'll need them by this weekend.
Actors
- Memorize your lines and blocking this weekend! We need you to be completely off book this week so we can focus on doing full run throughs and tech
- Bring in any costume pieces that were requested last week ASAP
- There should be no conflicts during opening week or tech weekend (5/4-5/10)
Costumers
- Please be at rehearsals for your scenes this week to do costume fittings.
- Talk to your directors about their makeup preferences this week-- you should come to the director's meeting on Monday if possible. Also make sure actors can put their makeup on on show nights.
Crew
- I will be posting an exact tech weekend schedule later today so keep an eye out for when you're needed.
- Thanks so much for all your help at the work party this weekend!

Message from Jim
We have one page in the program for director's notes. Will you please post on the blog that I'd like to offer up a couple of suggestions for how to do that, then let's here what directors say.
Suggestion one: They each get a small paragraph to say whatever they'd like about what they want the audience to take from this experience.
Suggestion two: Each director sends a quote (not necessarily from the play) that sums up what they think their play is about.
I need to hear back from people by the end of the week on what they'd like to do, and have something from them for the program by Monday.
You can email your preference to me. Thanks!

Two Issues to Address
1. Rehearsal time mix ups-- I want to remind everyone that there is no excuse to mix up your rehearsal times during the week seeing as I put them up on the blog every weekend. Missing one 45 minute rehearsal block is the equivalent of two rehearsals for a traditional show, and we only have two more weeks until we open. If you are scheduled for a time other than what you expected, please let me know beforehand so that we are not wasting stage time.
2. Conflicts during tech week-- Jim and I assumed that since actors are not allowed to have conflicts during tech, neither would directors. I am willing to give a little flexibility to the directors who talk to me beforehand about big conflicts, but otherwise we will continue with my planned tech and rehearsal schedule. Please know that we will tech your show without you if you are not able to be present, and that it is assumed you will be there any time your show is in tech.
Thank you!

Week 3
Directors
- Remember that costume and props people will be coming to some of your rehearsals this week to talk to you!
- We may start thinking about transitions this week so come to rehearsal knowing how you see your scene ending.
- We will have your set pieces either build or taped out this week.
Actors
- I will be sending out lists of costume pieces that we need throughout this week-- please help us out by asking around about those pieces.
- Everyone should be off book this week and should be working on memorizing blocking!
- If your costumer has asked you to bring in costume pieces from home, please bring them to this week's rehearsal.
Props/Costumes
- PLEASE BE AT THE DIRECTOR'S MEETING ON MONDAY!!
- Make sure to contact all your directors and stop in on rehearsals this week so that we can start rehearsing with the pieces we will actually be using.
- Email me lists of any costume pieces you are unable to find so that I can send them out to everyone.
Build Crew
- Thank you all so much for your help today! We made a lot of progress! There will be another work party next Saturday 10 am - 5 pm
Marketing
- We had some great ideas today! If there's one you are particularly excited about, figure out how to do it and then email me the info.
Emilia, Chris, and Ross
- Make sure you thank your parents for helping us so much this weekend!
Thanks everyone! Only 2 1/2 weeks until we open!

Message from Kathy
Participation fee of $50 is due from all students working on this play. That means everybody, not (Almost) everybody. So that means not only the actors pay for participation, but also all crew, marketing people, builders, directors, designers, stage managers, assistant stage managers. Did I (Almost) miss anybody? If so, you owe the fee. The participation fee helps cover costs for a full production -- sets, costumes, designers, licensing rights, food, anything and everything to get this production fully staged and performed. The fee doesn't cover all our costs.
For each play, we assume each student will pay the participation fee. Talk with Jim to arrange for a partial or full scholarship if you need it.....or your parent can email Jim. With each production, we have students who need a scholarship. If you want to donate money above the $50 fee level to help out another student, your donation is tax deductible as we are a non-profit program. Thank you. Questions? Contact Kathy Weidenbaum, parent production assistant. Thank you!
